Become a Purrfect Pals Volunteer!

Hello and thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with Purrfect Pals! We appreciate that you would like to be involved in supporting our mission and in wanting to be a part of our fantastic Volunteer Team! Our volunteers are the heart and soul of Purrfect Pals and all we do! Purrfect Pals has a variety of opportunities to help with the well being of cats. We currently have volunteer opportunities available at our Arlington-Smokey Point shelter and our offsite Petsmart and Petco Adoption Centers. In addition to these opportunities we also have special events throughout the year.

Volunteer Requirements

Please be sure each person applying to volunteer (Junior and Adult) has an individual application and separate email account. Our volunteers are dedicated to giving the best care to the cats and kittens within our adoption centers. We require everyone to commit to being scheduled once a week, 2- 3 hours per shift, and commit to being part of our team for 5 months.

Different locations have specific age requirements. Please take a moment to review volunteer opportunities at specific adoption locations here on our website. We cannot make any exceptions regarding the age requirements.

Petsmart Adoption Centers
Volunteers must be 14 years or older and anyone under the age of 18 must volunteer with a parent/guardian.
Petco Adoption Centers
Minimum age is 13 years and anyone under 16 must be volunteering with a parent/guardian
Main Sanctuary and Shelter in Arlington
Volunteers must be 13 years or older and anyone under 16 must be with a parent/guardian.

Community Service Please note that we are unable to accept persons looking for court ordered community service hours nor anyone convicted of any felony criminal charges. We happily work with high school volunteers working on Community Service hour requirements as long as they agree to the same scheduling and time committments as all other volunteers do.

Apply Online
If you are interested in becoming a Purrfect Pals Volunteer, please complete our ONLINE APPLICATION. Once we receive your application you will be invited to attend New Volunteer Orientation. This is required for ALL new volunteers. After orientation you will be contacted by a Lead Volunteer (by location) to discuss your schedule and start training dates. Orientations are scheduled monthly and the date(s) will be emailed to you in your invitation once we have received your application. Orientations are held either at the Main Shelter and Sanctuary or at a Community Library.
