Volunteer Job: Driver
Location Driver would base out of our Arlington shelter and transport cats and kittens to our partner adoption facilities from Mt. Vernon to as far south as Covington and Federal Way.
Requirements Current Washington State drivers license with clean driving record. Minimum 25 years of age. Volunteer can commit to at least one day per week: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday. All cats would be transported in our new Purrfect Pals van.
Time A typical day would begin at 9AM at the Arlington shelter calling our partner facilities to verify openings and could last until 5PM depending on the number of locations and distance to be covered.
Purpose To transport cats and kittens to offsite adoption events, partner facilities or other locations.
Duties
Call offsite partner facilities to verify cage openings
Prepare cats, as indicated by shelter staff, for transportation in cat carriers along with paperwork
Ensure adoption packets are complete for each cat before departure
Safely transport cats and kittens to their designated destination
Follow posted speed limits and all traffic rules
Pick up and drop off selected cats as indicated by staff
Supervisor Offsite Coordinator/Shelter Manager
Training Orientation/Job-shadow with Driver/Minor computer training required
