Volunteer Job: Average Joe Cat Show
Location The Shoreline Community Center on Saturday, April 29th from 10Am to 3PM.
Purpose To assist staff in preparations, set-up, staffing and breakdown of one of our annual Cat Show.
Volunteer Duties Help is needed in a variety of areas, including prep work before the Cat Show and day of activities.
Preparation for the Cat Show Volunteers needed to help distribute posters and flyers advertising the cat show in neighborhoods throughout the Puget Sound. Volunteers must have their own car. This position will begin mid-March and last through mid April.
Cat Show Volunteer Jobs ( Day of Event)
1. Set Up Assistants : Volunteers needed between the hours of 7AM and 10AM to help set up tables, cages, the photo contest area, escort vendors to their tables and indoor signage set up. 15 Volunteers needed for this position.
2. Emcee Assistant: Stay close to the emcee to help run errands, find people about to speak etc. Hours: 10AM until 3PM. 1 position
3. Judges: Judge cats in each category and award winners. Hours: 10AM until 3PM. 6 positions available
4. Registration Assistants: Provide packets and kennel cards to contestants, accept fees from late contestants and usher people to their cat's cage. Hours: 8:30AM until 10AM 5 positions available
5.Entry Volunteers: Take money and keep track of the number of people entering the Cat Show. Hours: 10AM until 3PM. 4 positions available
6. Sales Assistants: Sell Purrfect Pals merchandise (T-shirts, calendars etc) Hours: 9AM until 3PM. 2 positions available
7. Adoption Counselors: Help process cat adoptions in our cat adoption room. Feed and water cats, clean cages as needed. Hours 10AM until 3PM. 3 positions available
8. Show Cage Cleaner/Cat Care: Visit all cat cages to refill food/water and change litter as needed. Pick up garbage containers as they fill up. Hours 10AM until 3PM 2 positions available
9.Children's Area/ Face Painting and Games: 10Am until 3PM Child-friendly volunteers needed to help with face-painting, coloring and entertaining children of all ages in a designated children's corner. *This is not a baby-sitting position, parents will be with all younger children** 3 Positions available.
10. Row Monitors: Hours :10AM until 3PM. Row monitors assist and answer questions for the people in the row they've been assigned to. They help explain to their people when upcoming events are and help judges find contestants in each category.6-8 positions available.
11. Clean Up/Take Down Hours 2:45PM until 5:00 PM. Help is needed breaking down tables and cat cages and loading them into a truck. Removal of signage and other items. Some heavy lifting may be required and volunteers who are able to lift 30-40lbs are needed. 8 positions available.
