Purrfect Endings: Solomon
![]() |
He was quite shy and skittish, so he became a part of Purrfect Pal’s program where prisoners at the Washington State Corrections Complex in Monroe foster some of our special kittens. At the prison, Solomon had lots of love and attention. Each prisoner provides a letter about their kitten that is included in the adoption packet. According to Solomon’s foster offender he is playful, loving, and has a wonderful purr.
After socialization at the prison, Solomon began to look for his forever home. While at an Outreach Adoption event a nice young lady spotted him and asked to hold him. Solomon immediately snuggled into her arms and they fell in love with each other. Leigh had some experience with feral cats, and after adopting him she gradually introduced him to her home and let him get used to his new person and environment. He soon started snuggling onto her shoulder and under her chin purring like a motorboat the entire time. By the end of the first week Solomon was totally at home, knowing every nook and cranny. He loves perching on his cat tower and on the back of the couch. He sleeps next to Leigh’s head every night and welcomes her when she comes home from work.
Leigh has renamed him Shounen, Japanese for ‘boy’. He is nicknamed baby boy, little boy, and silly boy, all of which fit him. According to Leigh, ‘he is really thriving and I’m so grateful to Purrfect Pals for letting me have the little guy.’
