Purrfect Endings: Henny Penny

It was determined that the tiny 5 week old 7 ounces kitten had a genetic eye defect and both eyes were infected. Our volunteer took the sweet kitten home to nurse her back to health. Another day on the streets and little Henny Penny probably wouldn’t have survived.

Because of her medical requirements, Henny Penny accompanied her foster mom to the Purrfect Pals Outreach Booth at the Issaquah Salmon Festival where a kind lady named Tammy heard her story and fell madly in love with her. Tammy and Jay offered to foster little Henny Penny until she could be spayed, and then they wanted to adopt her. They also wanted to adopt one of the larger healthy kittens so that she would have a feline companion. We agreed to the foster arrangement for Henny Penny (now named Sarah) and the adoption of Little John (now named Levi) and the kittens moved into their new home which also includes two very sweet Labs named Dana and Jackson.

Sarah is now being treated by Dr. Thomas Sullivan of the Animal Eye Clinic of Seattle. She has had two surgeries and has lost the sight in one eye, but she is a happy, healthy, playful kitten, fully enjoying life with her feline friend Levi and the two beautiful Labs who have made her their best friend. Tammy and Jay generously agreed to pay for all of Sarah’s medical care and Sarah has been officially adopted. The little kitten who was unwanted and left to die now has a loving home where she is bringing joy to the lives of Tammy, Jay, and their two friendly labs.
