Purrfect Endings: Acorn

On Feb. 7, 2008 he went out to one of our great pet store partners, Ash Way Pet Supply, where our cats available for adoption get the opportunity to roam the store rather than be confined to a kennel. Less than two weeks later, Mary, who works upstairs from Ash Way, saw Acorn in the window and fell in love.

Mary had lost both of her 14 year old dogs in ’07 and after going through that loss wasn’t sure about ever adopting another animal, but after giving it much thought, decided that she needed a little friend to fill a place in her heart. According to Mary, he has been a dream! Mary reports that she can’t wait to get home and have Acorn (now Orion) greet her at the door. They spend many hours playing with all of his toys that are scattered all over the house, he sleeps next to her on his special blanket, and they even spend time outside together, with Orion always on his harness. He loves to chew on the grass and chatter at the birds while Mary gardens. But her favorite time with Orion is early in the morning when he starts meowing and then she hears the thunder of his paws racing up the stairs dragging some of his biggest toys to play with.

Our Rec Room is home to 30-40 cats. Many of these kitties will eventually find great homes, but unfortunately a number of these cats have behavior or chronic medical problems and will likely live their lives out at Purrfect Pals. Please consider sponsoring one of our permanent resident cats!.
